Three TV Shows That Would Make Great Books
We see books adapted for TV shows and films quite often but what if we flipped the script? What if our favorite shows were books? How well would they translate, would we love them as much?
Is it even possible and can our favorite shows be turned into books? I highly doubt it but a girl is allowed to dream, right? So let’s take a look at my alternative universe and here are three TV shows that would make great books:
Scandal
Tell me Scandal wouldn’t make a great book?! You know I love a series so a good quintet with each book being about 400 pages? LIT!! That’s one series I would be hard pressed to put down. This would’ve also been one of those times where I nagged the author every month or so to find out when the new book would be released. Scandal has the perfect balance of politics, drama, sex, mysterious characters, and scandal (no pun intended haha).
The Blacklist
Imagine if there was a book for every name on The Blacklist? Yes, we fit a blacklister into each episode but something tells me the writers of this show could go deeper on every one of them if needed. It’s one thing to see these scenarios play out on screen but imagine having the words and actions jump at you from the book. James Spader as Raymond Reddington is golden and while it would be hard getting his nuances on paper, I’m sure it can be done.
The Golden Girls
I know you all probably just gave me a mean side-eye but let us not forget that Sex and the City was originally a book by Candace Bushnell. We all know The Golden Girls was the original Sex and the City so this could’ve worked. If I was able to read fifty-leven Sweet Valley High books back in the day, I could have read however many Golden Girl installments there would have been.
Honorable mention has to go ABC’s Secrets and Lies and American Crime.
So what do you think, agree with any of my choices? If you had to pick, let me know what TV shows you think could make a great book.
