Wait… ‘Scream’ is being made into a TV series?
A Scream TV series is in the works and I had absolutely no clue. I am way late to this party!
I was scrolling through Entertainment Weekly and saw that the cast and director had been chosen. Apparently, MTV announced a pilot in May of last year.
The ‘Scream’ franchise first premiered in 1996 starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. It spurned three other films with the fourth one premiering in 2011. Admittedly, I am not a die-hard fan of the franchise though I did watch all of them. It will be interesting to see what they do with the series and how many people will pay attention.
I honestly didn’t know that there was a demand or even an interest in making this a series. I am always skeptical of these type of things because while some things translate well on film that doesn’t mean it will on the television screen or vice versa. I mean, are they going to have a new killer every season? Well assuming it makes it past the first season. Are they going for something similar to American Horror Story and have a brand new cast each time? Though I assume the core three or four will stick around similar to the movie. Well I guess I should just wait until it premieres.I’ll be tuning in, at least to the first episode to check it out.

Let’s revisit the trailer for the first film:
