Sleeper Show: Sleepy Hollow

I am not usually a fan of FOX’s shows. Well if I am being perfectly honest, I haven’t watched FOX since House and at the time that was the only show worth watching on that network. In the past year or so, however, it seems that they are producing better programming that appeal to me.

I have highlighted two of their upcoming shows on here already: Empire and Gotham, but another one I like that is going into its second season is Sleepy Hollow.

Starring Nicole Beharie, Tom Mison and Orlando Jones, Per FOX:

The premiere season of SLEEPY HOLLOW introduced viewers to a resurrected Ichabod, pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers. Revived alongside Ichabod was the infamous Headless Horseman, who embarked upon a murderous rampage in present-day Sleepy Hollow and, to Ichabod’s alarm, was the first of many horrors to seep into the town.

Ichabod teamed up with Abbie, a “leftenant” on the police force, and the two embarked on a supernatural mission to stop the evil that awoke along with Ichabod. With the help of Captain Irving and Abbie’s estranged sister, Jenny, the pair battled witches, demons, plagues, Acolytes, the Sandman, a haunted house, the Golem, the dark demon Molloch and now, as Season Two begins, they’re in a battle for their lives. Nothing is as it seems in this fantastical world of mythology, death-defying romance, untold history, signature “Crane” humor, hair-raising evil and, perhaps, much-needed hope.

Here is a short teaser for the upcoming season:

It already has a pretty good following and would not be considered a sleeper in that sense, however, it is one that many of my friends didn’t know about so I thought it would be a good one to highlight. Most people wouldn’t think that this is a show that I am interested in but being the same girl that was obsessed with WB’s Charmed years ago, something about the show intrigued me. I checked out the first two episodes, was quite impressed and have been following it since.

So much has happened last season but since it is a relatively new show with only 13 episodes in the first season, there is still time for all of you to catch up. For those of you who do not want to binge watch, here is a six minute recap courtesy of FOX:

Season 2 premieres on Monday, September 22nd at 9pm on FOX.
