On The List: Shots Fired

‘On The List’ is where I preview new television shows that should be on your radar this season.

What: Shots Fired

Where: CBS

When: Midseason (2017)

CBS brings us a highly anticipated 10 part event series, Shots Fired. Since it was first announced a little while back, I have been interested in this show. This show will follow the aftermath of a racially charged shooting in North Carolina. Starring Sanaa Lathan, Tristan Wilds, and Stephan James (who’s been BAE for a while, if I’m keeping it 100), Shots Fired’s aim seems to be to reflect our current times. Based on the trailer, I expect to see demonstrations, outrage, and many different emotions accurately portrayed.

Did I mention that Gina Prince-Bythewood, who I have loved since forever, and Brian Glazer are executive producers? Yeah, I expect this to be well done.

I’m also wondering if this show does well if it will become an anthology similar to American Crime where there’s a new case every season.
