So with the name change, of course, this segment’s name had to change, for the last time! 🙂

This week in The Reader’s Corner, we highlight releases from three of my favorite authors.

The Blackbirds by Eric Jerome Dickey

April 19, 2016

the blackbirds

I’m always here for a new Eric Jerome Dickey, and this one is no different.

New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey delivers his next delectable, erotic romance

They call themselves the Blackbirds. Kwanzaa Browne, Indigo Abdulrahaman, Destiny Jones, and Ericka Stockwell are four best friends who are closer than sisters, and will go to the ends of the earth for one another. Yet even their deep bond can’t heal all wounds from their individual pasts, as the collegiate and post-collegiate women struggle with their own demons, drama, and desires.

Trying to forget her cheating ex-fiancé, Kwanzaa becomes entangled with a wicked one-night stand—a man who turns out to be one in five million. Indigo is in an endless on-again, off again relationship with her footballer boyfriend, and in her time between dysfunctional relationships, she pursues other naughty desires. Destiny, readjusting to normal life, struggles to control her own anger after avenging a deep wrong landed her in juvie, while at the same time trying to have her first real relationship—one she has initiated using an alias to hide her past from her lover. Divorced Ericka is in remission from cancer and trying to deal with two decades of animosity with her radical mother, while keeping the desperate crush she has always had on Destiny’s father a secret… a passion with an older man that just may be reciprocated.

As the women try to overcome— or give into— their impulses, they find not only themselves tested, but the one thing they always considered unbreakable: their friendship.

Dirtiest Secret (Stark International) by J.Kenner

April 19, 2016

dirtiest secret

We’ve briefly read about Dallas Sykes in the previous Nikki and Damien stories. It’s now time to be properly introduced to world-renowned playboy.

From the New York Times bestselling author of such “sizzling Stark novels” (RT Book Reviews) asRelease Me and Say My Name comes a Stark International Novel featuring provocative bad boy Dallas Sykes—the first in a new trilogy in the S.I.N. series.

It was wrong for us to be together, but it was even harder to be apart.

The memory of Dallas Sykes burns inside of me.

Everyone knows him as a notorious playboy, a man for whom women and money are no object. But to me, he’s still the one man I desperately crave—yet the one I can never have.

Dallas knows me better than anyone else. We bear the same scars, the same darkness in our past. I thought I could move on by staying away, but now that we’re drawn together once more, I can’t fight the force of our attraction or the temptation to make him mine.

We’ve tried to maintain control, not letting ourselves give in to desire. And for so long we’ve told ourselves no—but now it’s finally time to say yes.

Dirtiest Secret is intended for mature audiences.

Eternal by Altonya Washington

April 20, 2016

eternal altonya washington

This will be Altonya Washington’s first YA book. I’m not normally a fan of the genre but it’s Altonya Washington so I’m going to check it out. The paperback version has been out since last month but the 20th will mark the release of the ebook.

Lilia Avery had no idea what prompted her to suggest booking Eternity Lodge for the annual Senior Week trip. The place was in no one’s budget, but she decided to take a chance and was pleasantly surprised when the proprietors seemed keen on her idea. The last thing she’d expected was to meet Fystian Akintunde and have him wipe her mind clear of every ounce of her common sense. He was an enigma and he seemed just as off kilter by her.
Fystian Akintunde was more than an enigma. The abilities and other special traits possessed by he and his siblings had them all in danger from the moment they were born. Ancient and powerful parties were determined to see the Akintunde quintuplets destroyed. Now, a young woman’s fate will unexpectedly intertwine with a clan of immortal siblings and set in motion a chain of events and a centuries’ old prophecy will be realized.
