It’s National Book Lovers Day!
Today, August 9th, is National Book Lovers Day!
On this glorious day, I encourage all of you who love to read, even a fraction as much as I do, to kick back and enjoy a good book.
Whether you take a blanket to the park, lay out by the pool or stay under the covers after work, there is no better way to celebrate the day than to spend hours lost in a book.
Unsure of what to read? Here are a few suggestions for any mood:
Reread an old favorite – The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a favorite that I read at least once a year.
Need some career advice or tips to survive a quarter-life crisis? Try The Defining Decade by Dr. Meg Jay or Basic Black by Cathie Black.
How about a style and fashion must read? The Woman I Wanted To Be by Diane Von Fursternberg is worth the buy.
Need something that will take your breath away? Look no further than Me Before You by Jojo Moyes! It will make you fall in love, weep with pain and remind you how important it is to appreciate every day where you are strong, healthy and alive.
Want a quick romantic read? Of course I’m going to suggest Altonya Washington’s Dream and Pretense: The Ramseys. While you’ll breeze through this novel because the Ramsey brothers are just that intriguing, I can’t be held responsible if you start buying up the remainder of the series.
I plan to spend my evening after work finishing The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz (finally!).
Whatever you do on this National Book Lovers’ Day, find time to sit back, relax and enjoy a great book – if only for an hour or two.
