Meet Agent Carter
So as we all know I am a HUGE Marvel fan, so it is only right that I will be tuned into their latest offering on ABC, Marvels’s Agent Carter.
Per ABC:
It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark.
Now for the newbies, we met Peggy in Captain America: The First Avenger. We knew immediately that she was pretty bad ass! She was also Steve’s great love, though the relationship never had the chance to blossom as Steve did essentially “die” at the end of that film. We saw her again in the most recent Captain America: Winter Soldier where she was suffering from dementia.
This show will take place in the 1940’s and while it will taking place in the past, based on the previews it doesn’t look like it will seem “old” at all.
We should be able to get a nice back story to how S.H.I.E.L.D really came to be and we will see just how Peggy dealt with losing the love of her life.
While it is billed as a limited affair, having the chance to see a woman holding her own in the male dominated Marvel Cinematic Universe? Count me in!
Marvel’s Agent Carter looks to be stylish, witty and action packed. Starring Hayley Atwell, James D’Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj and Shea Whigham, Marvel’s Agent Carter premieres with a two hour episode on January 6th on ABC.
