Update 02: 2018 Reading Challenge
So we’re about 6 weeks into Q3 and it’s time for an update on my 2018 Reading Challenge.
It’s pretty safe to say that I crushed my Goodreads goal. As of today, I read 134 books of my anticipated 75. That is 179%, I’m patting myself on the back for that if you don’t mind. Here’s a screenshot and be sure to follow me on Goodreads @theislandreader, if you aren’t already!
On to The Island Reader Challenge, if you’re not familiar – click HERE for the full list. I’ve made a little progress since last time.
Here’s what I’ve read:
Interracial romance
A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert
Lost & Found by D.A. Young
Single Parent Romance
Let Me Love You by Alexandria House (read my review HERE.)
The debut novel by a romance author
Sugar Rush by A. Jones
A debut novel by a romance author
For You I Will by Chelsea Maria
Novel by a Caribbean Author
Do Over by Delaney Diamond
A book you read last year
If He Loves Me by B. Love
A book by an author currently under 25 years old
After I created this prompt, I realized this may be hard to pinpoint a lot of author’s current ages. An alternative to this, which I’m going to do, is to read a book that the author published while they were 25 or younger, even if they are older now. White Teeth by Zadie Smith and Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie are two books I’m thinking of for this prompt.
While I’ve been reading quite a bit this year, I haven’t completed as many prompts from the reading challenge as I had hoped. I plan to fix that within the next month or two and hopefully complete the challenge ahead of time. Wish me luck!
For those of you participating, what you have read so far?
