There’s going to be a Disney Channel original movie marathon.
This is not a drill.
I repeat, there’s going to be a Disney Channel original movie marathon. I read this Buzzfeed article via Twitter a week or two ago and there were tears of joy.
I grew up in the 90’s so by default I am a Disney girl. Aside from TNT where I had to watch reruns of Charmed, there was no programming I watched more than the Disney Channel. If I’m going to keep it all the way honest, I religiously watched this channel until I was a smooth 15 or 16 years old.
Ok, let’s not get sidetracked. Starting May 27th, there will be a four-day marathon of 51 original movies. During the month of June, there will be showings of every other original movie.
After reading this, I started to reminisce. So in honor of this spectacular event, I had to make a list.
Here are the best Disney Channel original movies:
The Cheetah Girls
The outfits in this movie really hurt my eyes (and heart) at times but it really was a nice coming of age story about friendship and success.
Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century
“Stargazing mega fast, you hit me like a cosmic blast, you’ve given me a technicolor world. Putting me in overdrive. Speed of light, I’m so alive! Could you be my supernova girl?”
Do not even sit up here and act like I am the only one who still knows the lyrics to this song. DO NOT.
I think it’s pretty safe to say, my DVR is going to hate me. I know I wasn’t the only Disney Channel fanatic, so let me know about your favorite movies in the comments below! Don’t forget to set a reminder for this grand event that starts on the 27th!
