I'm back with another one, word to DJ Khaled! LOL I'm back with another one, word to DJ Khaled! LOL

I'm a huge fan of supernatural romances and Dria Andersen has been a favorite of mine in recent years with her work. Chasing Savannah is one of my favorites from her and one I recommend you checking out, if you haven't already.

Bears stick to tradition and the alpha needs to be married. With Brent's twin brother getting married, his family is on him more than ever. He's not particularly hung up on marriage and is in no rush but his mother has other plans. Brent comes across a new office manager at his family's company when he returns from a trip and is immediately drawn to Mercedes. His bear almost immediately claims her as his mate. The problem? Mercedes is a witch and supposedly bears and witches shouldn't be a thing.

This was a quick, fun read. It was low on angst but had great chemistry and it was great seeing other members of Brent's family in the novel. While reading The Friend Contact, the first book in the series is recommended, it's not necessary and this can be read as a standalone.

Oooh! Read her Haven series too and come back so we can talk about it!
I’m reading books again, my Kindle and I are on I’m reading books again, my Kindle and I are on one accord - praise! Does this mean I’m about to be consistent again on the blog? Let’s take it one day at a time lol.

The first book I read this weekend was Kennedy Ryan’s Reel, which comes out tomorrow and we gotta talk about this one!

Reel is a bulldozer, and I mean that in the most glowing way possible.
It bulldozes through your feelings - you will laugh, you will cry. It will spark many moments of pure joy and ambition and other moments of sheer heartbreak and anger.
I shed quite a few tears reading this book. And quotables? This book has them by the dozen.
Reel is a story about art: the type we create, the type we love, the type we fight so hard to make when it’s real and it’s true.
Yes, Canon and Neevah are the corner stone, the driving force of the book, so to speak, but the art? That’s the heart of the book. That’s the soul.

The full review is now live on the site, click the link in my bio to read and make sure pick up this book tomorrow and then cork back.

** A special thanks to Social Butterfly PR for the advanced copy**
Benaja Lake didn't believe she had an extended fam Benaja Lake didn't believe she had an extended family. Her parents died a few years back and to her knowledge, that was all she had. However, her long-lost uncle is dying and she finds out she is the heir to a billion-dollar empire. The only problem, aside from her never knowing this family existed, of course, is that this company is riddled with greed and secrets. And her uncle is expecting her to turn it all around. This means a target is on her back. People aren't happy with this and they want her gone before she can even take her position. That is is where Syson Faust - a man with more secrets than Jason Morgan (my General Hospital fans know who I'm talking about).
He's hired to protect her but being just a bodyguard isn't something either of them wants.

Undoubted packs a punch in a short time with the many secrets and truths that need to be unraveled on both Benaja's and Syson's part. Their families are convoluted and their histories are murky. It's a nice mix of intrigue and sexy. There were a few times I will say the mystery overshadowed the romance. There was a lot to get through and I think if it was a little longer, that would have helped.

Undoubted had 🔥 chemistry and an interesting storyline that drew me in. Syson’s friends Jace and Avery? I’d like to know more about them, fingers crossed they get their own story.
I bought these books last year and didn’t have a I bought these books last year and didn’t have a chance to get around to them. Since we’re in the midst of #readwhatyougot and my Kindle and I are friends again, this was the perfect time to dive in. I saw such good reviews about this book that I just bought all 4 one time because y’all know I’m a sucker for a series and YOLO.
BABBBBYYYYYY LET ME TELL YOU?! Why y’all ain’t make me read these books sooner?
I finished the four of these in the last couple days, I’m on maybe a couple hours of sleep and I regret NOTHING.
I ain’t gonna lie, I don’t have no real review. I’m just here to say READ THIS.
These stories manage to be so many things at once: a tale of beautiful love, heartbreaking and ruthless. There are varying degrees of emotions while reading this books. But one thing for sure; you won’t want to put these books down. And that damn Black? Goddamn.
That’s really all I got to say. Have y’all read this? If so, let’s discuss!

Synopsis:

From Book 1: In August 1831, Nat Turner leads a group of escaped slaves in a rebellion that rocks the South. The revolt comes to a quick and violent end. In November, Nat is publicly hanged, and as his body swings, a false sense of peace washes over Jerusalem, Virginia.

Unbeknownst to the world, on the day Nat Turner dies, his son, Nat Hope Turner, is born. Reared by Big Mama on the Turner plantation, young Nat's identity is kept secret to keep him safe. As Nat grows to manhood, he leads his own uprising against slavery and is forever after known as Black.

Fate-by way of Big Mama-leads Black to rescue a young female slave, Sunday, before the plantation owner can sell her. Black has lived for liberty until the day he comes face to face with the alluring Sunday. As the two embark on a sexually charged ride toward love and freedom, they set off a chain of events that forces Black to risk his own liberty for hers.

Black shares the appealing tale of a passionate love between a man and a woman bound together to change their destiny.
Listen when it came to my top 3 Love Belvin heroes Listen when it came to my top 3 Love Belvin heroes, my list was air tight... until now. Then Ashton come bring his fine ass, rich ass, complicated ass way into my fictional life and baby he moving his way up to the top!!!

The Muted Hopelessness series follows Tori and Ashton as they navigate a very complicated and messy friendship that turns into an unforgettable love story. Their history spans 12(I think) years. The first two books let us in on their beginning, and the finale shows us where they are now. Their love isn’t easy. It’s reckless yet hopeful, all consuming yet devastating. Tragic yet beautiful. They had to navigate a lot to get to their version of happily ever after but as a reader, you’ll appreciate the journey even when you may want to curse both of them out. No matter how much time has passed with these two apart, they both realize that their flame still burns as brightly as ever.
The #readwhatyougot challenge by @brazenbabereview The #readwhatyougot challenge by @brazenbabereviews and @shadesnpages is exactly what the doctor ordered cus babbyyy my TBR pile been screaming for attention (and I need to find space for a new bookshelf 😂😂). Y’all let’s touch and agree that 2021 is going to be a better reading year for me so my IG ain’t tumbleweeds this year. Hang with your girl. 😂😂
Two things about me: I’m a re-reader and I love Two things about me: I’m a re-reader and I love series. I’m always going back to old favorites, and one I love to revisit is the Hideaway Saga by Rochelle Akers, and one of my fave fictional guys.

Michael MF Kirkland!

No Compromise by Rochelle Alers was the first time I remember reading a book and was like who is this man? Who? Others have taken Michael’s place over the years but this one holds a special place in my heart. 😂

This is a Hideaway saga by Rochelle Akers Stan account. That Cole family? FAVES!
Anyway Michael was fine, rich, could cook his ass off, and was willing to put his foot in somebody ass over Jolene. He was quietly dangerous just like his daddy (we’ll talk about Joshua another day 😍). Win win for me.

Do you have a favorite book you like to reread?
