What do you do when you meet the man of your dreams, but he’s on the wrong side of the law?... You fall head over heels in love with him.
Dr. Sienna Jameson grew up with a crime boss as a father and is not looking for a man with the same occupation. But Streets is cute… and sweet… and everything in between. How is she supposed to resist his charms while craving everything about him?
Streets is just trying to do his job. Hooking up with the boss’s daughter is not in the job description, but after spending some time with Dr. Jameson, he’s not so sure he can stay away; however, the circumstances dictate that he must. What to do?
“These streets don’t love you like I do.”
I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Tanya Stephens but I could not get her song, These Streets, out of my head while reading this Love In The Streets by Ashley Nicole. It played in a loop in my head as I read the first half of this novel until the author threw my ass for a loop. A good loop as I have no complaints but I was still thrown.
Sienna Jameson is a genius, an ER attending physician by the age of 29 with numerous degrees under her belt. Having grown up with an infamous crime boss as her father, she really only has one steadfast dating rule: do not date anyone with the same occupation. However, that proves to be quite hard when she falls completely in love with Streets, her father’s newest employee.
And who wouldn’t fall in love with Streets? He is smart, sweet, caring and a has a host of other qualities that honestly makes it easy to fall in love with him.
Sienna and Streets both try to fight their attraction to one another. A few unexpected days away together causes them to give into their feelings though they promise themselves that it will just be one and done. We all know what happens to our most carefully laid plans, right? Neither can truly stay away from each other as they’re in so deep. However, deep secrets, heartbreak, and the potential mending of other relationships make it hard for these two to see a future where they can be together.
I really liked this book. Sienna and Streets were perfect for each other, the chemistry was evident and though this happened over a relatively short period of time, I believed their connection. Sienna’s quirkiness made her even more likable and Streets multi-layered personality was something I could appreciate.
Love In the Streets was the first novel by this author but if she keeps this up, it surely won’t be my last.
