Author Spotlight: Altonya Washington

August is Read A Romance Month! In celebration of my favorite genre, I am highlighting some of my favorite romance authors.

There is no simply no competition when it comes to my book collection as romance novels are the overwhelming majority. Because most of my collection consists of this genre, I am a bit selective to the authors I read.

One of my favorite authors whom I’ve ranted and raved about many times on this blog is Altonya Washington. I love a great contemporary romance and Washington provides me with this time and time again especially with her Ramsey/Tesano series. The Ramseys are one of my favorites. At this point, I am sure I sound like a broken record but that is just how much I love them. What really drew me to this series, along with some of her other work, is that these stories aren’t your cookie cutter romance. She does a great job, especially with the Ramseys and Tesanos, of providing the perfect amount of mystery and intrigue that constantly leaves us wanting to more. Even though the protagonists tend to be insanely successful and well off, they’re always relatable. They’re all fairly young and tend to deal with the same relationship and familial struggles that we all can relate to. If you search her name on my site, you will read a few reviews I have done for her books.

The Ramsey/Tesano saga may be over but she has tons of new material on its own way. Her latest novel, Secrets In Love, will be released tomorrow and I cannot wait. In the meantime, I suggest you get to know one of Seattle’s most notorious families in A Lover’s Dream.
