12 Novels to add to your TBR pile in 2019

I’m always on the hunt for new romance releases. Always. You all are well aware of this.  Like clockwork, once the year starts to wind down I get super curious as to what, if any, new novels that romance authors have on the docket for the upcoming year. I like to peruse and see if anyone has announced new release dates or fabulous book covers.

After taking a look, here are 12 new romance novels to add to your TBR list in 2019.

These releases only go until June(ish) is by no means an expansive list.

These are novels that caught my eye and ones that I’ve either pre-ordered or made a note to look out for.

Just Love Me by Shenae Hailey – January 1

B. Love has a new pen name where she will publish her contemporary romance novels. She will still use her moniker for her urban romance. Just Love Me is her debut as Shenae Hailey.

Inara Mitchell has one goal – to show her family that she can make something of herself without their handouts. She’s given herself six months to establish her career and find a new home for her and her son all while healing the wounds her ex left behind on her heart.

August Graham has one goal – to convince his mother that her son will be okay when her soul departs her body. After a cancer scare, August’s mother made it her mission to marry her youngest son off. But what she wants for him is nothing like what he needs. Wanting to ease her mind about his future and maintain his peace, August sets out to find love – real or fake.

When August and Inara cross paths, they immediately go into take mode, trying to see what the other has to give and not caring about what they need to receive. Inara is convinced she can take August’s business to the next level, and August, well, August wants Inara at his side in a more personal manner.

Six months can feel like an eternity when you’re pretending… but that same amount of time can feel like one second when things start to get real.

Wonder by Christina C. Jones

Isn’t this cover gorgeous?

Wander is giving me dystopian and Alice in Wonderland vibes and you know who is here for it? ME. I. I AM HERE FOR IT.

We don’t have a release date yet but early 2019 has been mentioned. Keep an eye out, I will definitely let you all know once it’s available.

Crazy on You by Crystal B. Bright – February 2

Shut out the noise and listen to your heart  . . .

Worse than a one-hit wonder, Tassia Hogan is a one-line wonder.  Infamous for a memorable, extremely provocative verse, her music career is going nowhere. Finding a decent man to date has also proven fruitless . . . they all think she’s as wanton as those lyrics. But now her label is offering Tassia the chance to shine—with a catch. The album is duets. Her partner is a Country Western singer.  And he’s just as reluctant to agree as she is.

An Unconditional Freedom by Alyssa Cole – February 26th, 2019

Daniel Cumberland, born free in Massachusetts, studied law with dreams of helping his people—dreams that died the night he was kidnapped and sold into slavery. Daniel is rescued, but he’s a changed man. When he’s offered entry into the Loyal League, the covert organization of Black spies who helped free him, he seizes the opportunity for vengeance against the Confederacy and those who support it.

When the Union Army occupies the Florida home of Cuban Janeta Sanchez, daughter of an enslaved woman and the plantation owner who married her, her family’s wealth does not protect her father from being imprisoned. Under duress and blaming herself for the arrest, Janeta agrees to infiltrate a group called the Loyal League as a double agent—and finds a cause truly worth the sacrifice.

Daniel is aggravated by the headstrong and much too observant new detective he’s paired with, and Janeta is intrigued by the broken but honorable man she is tasked with betraying. As they embark on a mission to intercept Jefferson Davis and thwart European meddling, their dual hidden agendas are threatened by the ghosts of their pasts and a growing affection that could strengthen both the Union and their souls—or lead to their downfall.

Forget Me Not by Brenda Jackson – March 26

Brenda Jackson welcomes you back to Catalina Cove, where love is waiting to be reclaimed. Ashley Ryan never doubted that her husband, Devon, was the love of her life. Even now, three years after Devon died in a car wreck while on a business trip, Ashley can’t bring herself to move on. But when her girlfriends surprise her with a getaway to beautiful Catalina Cove, Louisiana, she gets the shock of her life when she encounters a man—bearded, more rugged than before, but unmistakably her Devon.

One Warm Winter by Jamie Pope – March 26

Adopted as a child by a tech billionaire, Wynter Bates knows nothing about her origins—or the world beyond being privileged, sheltered, and lonely. But she won’t let anything stop her from investigating who she is. Especially after a high-profile scandal involving her father’s past lands her on an island retreat under bodyguard Cullen Whelan’s protection—in the guise of being his girlfriend . . .

The third standalone novel in the Hoops series. Book cover not yet available, image courtesy of Kennedy’s FB page.

Hook Shot by Kennedy Ryan – March 2019

She’s a fashion designer and voodoo high priestess. He’s a single dad and NBA baller. There’s an age gap and it’s set in Brooklyn.

Kennedy Ryan has a bonafide hit on her hands with her Hoops series, with Long Shot featuring my beloved August being my favorite. You can read my review of that novel here. Since we were first introduced to all characters though, there has been something about Kenan, August’s teammate and Lotus, Iris’s cousin that drew readers in like a moth to a flame. To say that I am intrigued by this series would be an absolute understatement.

Fumbled by Alexa Martin –  April 23rd, 2019

A second chance doesn’t guarantee a touchdown in this new contemporary romance from the author of Intercepted.

Single-mother Poppy Patterson moved across the country when she was sixteen and pregnant to find a new normal. After years of hard work, she’s built a life she loves. It may include a job at a nightclub, weekend soccer games, and more stretch marks than she anticipated, but it’s all hers, and nobody can take that away. Well, except for one person.

Rebel by Beverly Jenkins  – May 28th, 2019

The first novel in USA Today Bestselling Author Beverly Jenkins’s compelling new series follows a Northern woman south in the chaotic aftermath of the Civil War . . .

Valinda Lacey’s mission in the steamy heart of New Orleans is to help the newly emancipated community survive and flourish. But soon she discovers that here, freedom can also mean danger. When thugs destroy the school she has set up and then targets her, Valinda runs for her life—and straight into the arms of Captain Drake LeVeq.

As an architect from an old New Orleans family, Drake has a deeply personal interest in rebuilding the city. Raised by strong women, he recognizes Valinda’s determination. And he can’t stop admiring—or wanting—her. But when Valinda’s father demands she return home to marry a man she doesn’t love, her daring rebellion draws Drake into an irresistible intrigue.

The Perfect Date by Evelyn Lozada – June 18th

The newest novel from celebrity Evelyn Lozada in the vein of The Wedding Date and The Kiss Quotient.

Caleb “The Duke” Lewis is an up and coming star for the Bronx Bolts, known for getting around. However, his last breakup left him distracted and made him turn to drink. When he’s caught by the Bolts manager at a party instead of training, he’s suspended and sent back to the Bronx to get his head straight.

Angel and Duke’s worlds collide one night at the club and sparks fly. Though Angel wants nothing to do with Duke, he has no intention of letting her slip through his fingers. She isn’t star-struck by his fame, and this might be just what he needs to get things in order. He’ll do anything to convince her…even make her an offer she can’t refuse.

Sweet Heat by Zuri Day – June 25th

The Blue-Collar Lover Series

This confident, large-and-in-charge beauty also has high aspirations, and will work all her skills against the tasty Mr. Marvin to take first place—and start her caterer-to-the-stars business. As their attraction burns hot, the other contestants can’t take their heat nor their talent, and threaten to burn their dreams to ash. The follow up to Tasha’s fantastic and heartwrenching novel, The Truth of Things.
