My Favorite Soap Opera Weddings
Soap operas are known for many things; the sometimes implausible storylines, the scrumptious leading men, the genre’s addiction with rapidly aging children, and a catfight here and there. However, what has always drawn me to soap operas and the reason I still have watch today is the romance.
Romance is what makes soap operas. We all have our allegiance to our favorite super couples. We root for them, fall in love with them, and cry with them. I have strong ties to my favorite couples, as you all may remember.
One of the best parts of any great super couple is the wedding. When done right and when you know the couple is built to last, the wedding can be epic; even when it doesn’t go according to plan.
With that being said, here are the my favorite soap opera weddings:
Antonio and Jessica, One Life to Live
Antonio and Jessica were the little engine that should have but didn’t. Though they didn’t last as long as I would have liked, they’re one of my favorite soap opera super couples and have a great wedding, mainly because I really loved Antonio’s vows.
Bo and Hope, Days of our Lives
I don’t think any soap opera wedding list is complete without mention of Bo and Hope’s.To say they had a royal wedding in England back in 1985 would be putting it mildly.
Sonny and Carly, General Hospital
You all are quite aware of my absolute LOVE for everything that is Sonny and Carly Corinthos. These two have been married five times but their 2nd wedding was by far my favorite. It was intimate, the most sentimental (though the one last year was pretty close), tinged with its bit of drama, and the love was palpable.
P.S. I loved when Sonny picked out Carly’s clothes back in the day.

Luke and Laura, General Hospital
This is the no-brainer. I wasn’t born when this epic wedding took place but every soap opera fan knows about this wedding. It was reported that over 30 million people watched the landmark wedding of Lucas Lorenzo Spencer and Laura Baldwin.
